Watching Nijinsky was the first time I realised how beautiful ballet could be. I was fascinated by the movements of the dancer, flying effortlessly across the stage. I found myself paying so much attention to their movements: the extension of an arm, the angle of a leg, the balance, and more. I began sketching these poses to better understand how the human body could convey such freedom. This was my first attempt to capture, on a still page, the beautiful bodies that never seemed to stop moving.
