“You’re the one, aren’t you? The law student who got kicked out of an art class for painting all over the classroom walls.”

“And you’re the one, aren’t you? The guy who left flowers in front of that painting.”

This exchange is definitely one of my favourite scenes in musical Diaghilev. Although the moment is only mentioned in dialogue, I wanted to imagine what it might have looked like. I illustrated Benois painting the wall, with a single rose left by Diaghilev at his feet.
